WHO IS REAL?

REAL Exhibition Development, is an NGO founded in 2007 that aims to "develop exhibitions and other visual forms of communication, that promote understanding and peace between peoples". We are working closely with the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES), Mayors for Peace and the International Peace Bureau (IPB) Geneva, on a number of important exhibitions focused on disarmament and sustainable development .www.realexpo.org

This includes a major photographic exhibition entitled 'In Security , The Nuclear Dilemma', which was inaugurated recently at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, Geneva. www.micr.org

THE NUCLEAR DILEMMA EXHIBITION: www.nucleardilemma.org
This exhibition looks at the history of nuclear technology, from the discovery of radioactivity in 1896 by Henri Becquerel, to the present day proliferation and energy crisis. Curated by Gabriel Bauret, a highly respected photographic curator (European House of Photography) the exhibition brings together major bodies of work from international photographers, as well as a 10 minute film entitled 'The Scientific Journey'. Very importantly educational tools have been developed by Dr.Kathleen Sullivan, a disarmament educator with the United Nations, that teachers may use freely within the classroom.

CONTENTS/SIZE:
The exhibition consists of 76 framed images, a DVD and full caption information, a diagram showing the Nuclear Cycle, a selection of the world's press and a dedicated internet site with free materials (and images) for schools and is delivered with a complete scenographic plan for the 4 different sections. 1) The Scientific Journey 2) Truth and Consequences 3) Precautions 4) Connections. All this requires at least 300sqr meters of space.

DATES:
Following its presentation in Switzerland, the exhibition will be travel on to the Gernika Peace Museum, Spain, a member of the International Peace Museum Network, and the World Haus of Culture (Haus der Kulturen der Welt) , Berlin in 2009. We would very must like to see this exhibition travel to Great Britain in late 2009 / early 2010. With a presentation period of 2 - 4 months, we would hope to be able to exhibit in 4 - 5 cities: London, Coventry, Manchester, Leeds, Belfast (Derry) and Edinburgh are all possible locations.
